This watercolor and ink was done as an original for auction at the Navy Marine Corps Ball in 2017. I was honored to be the showcased artist for the event, and this piece graced the cover of their program. The theme was "A Community of Caring" and as I was found for my work with the "We Call Them Home" series of Marine Corps base signs, I decided that a building portrait in watercolor and ink was appropriate, and what better building to represent a community among the Navy and Marine Corps than the Pentagon - a building where all branches of the military as well as civilians work every day.
This piece matches well with the We Call Them Home series as well since many Marines call the Pentagon a duty station within their career.
